FIRST PRESCHOOL

First Preschool  helps children begin building a strong spiritual foundation. We want every child to experience God’s love, discover that He is the Creator of all things, and begin a lifelong journey of faith.

FIRST KIDS

First Kids serves children from kindergarten through fifth grade and their families through engaging Bible teaching, meaningful relationships, and experiences designed to help kids grow in their faith.

When We Serve
  • Sundays at 8:00, 9:00, 10:15, and 11:30 AM
  • Wednesdays from 6:00–7:15 PM
  • The greatest current need is during the 10:15 AM hour.
Serving Opportunities
  • Sunday Small Group Leader — Greatest Need: Lead a table of children, help them understand Scripture, and build relationships with their families. All supplies are provided.
  • Floater: Serve as an additional adult in the room or assist when another leader is absent.
  • Substitute: Step in when a regular volunteer is unavailable.
  • Welcome Desk Host: Welcome new and returning families, assist with registration, and help children find their groups.
  • Trailblazers Special Needs Leader: Help children with special needs fully participate in First Kids.
  • Wednesday Night Leader: Help children participate in Bible teaching, choir, and games.
Opportunities are available with kindergarten and first grade, second and third grade, and fourth and fifth grade preteens.

FIRST STUDENTS

First Students reaches, disciples, and sends students for the Kingdom of God during a critical and influential season of life. Volunteers help students build relationships, understand Scripture, and take meaningful steps in their faith.

Serving Opportunities
  • Sunday Morning
    • Hospitality Team: Welcome guests and assist with attendance.
    • Small Group Leader: Teach Scripture and facilitate meaningful conversation.
    • Setup and Cleanup Team: Prepare spaces before students arrive and help reset them afterward.
  • Wednesday Evening
    • Hospitality Team: Welcome students and assist with food service.
    • Decision Counseling: Pray with students and guide them through spiritual decisions.
    • Shepherds: Build relationships and help create a safe, welcoming environment.
  • City Groups
    • City Group Leader: Lead students in prayer, Scripture, and fellowship before school at a local coffee shop or restaurant.

COLLEGE & YOUNG ADULTS

First College helps students seek God’s Kingdom and find meaningful community. Through worship, biblical teaching, discipleship, and relationships, students are encouraged and equipped to grow in their faith. Faithful adults can make a lasting difference simply by showing up, listening, encouraging, and pointing students toward Jesus.

COMMUNITY GROUPS

Community Groups help people study God’s Word, build relationships, and grow as followers of Jesus. Groups are available for men, women, and coed gatherings in a variety of formats and life stages.

FIRST WOMEN

First Women is a place for women to grow in their faith, deepen their walk with God, and build life-changing connections with one another.

  • Opportunities are available on Wednesday evenings, during ministry events, and on Sunday mornings.

  • Wednesday Night Hospitality Team: Welcome women and assist with refreshments, merchandise, and group activities.
  • Events Team: Help prepare materials, set up spaces, welcome guests, and serve during events.
  • Decision Team: Assist with decision counseling on Sunday mornings.

FIRST SENIORS

First Seniors provides adults age 55 and older with opportunities to serve, build relationships, grow spiritually, participate in missions, and enjoy meaningful activities together.

LOCAL MISSIONS

Mission 423 is the local missions ministry of First Baptist Cleveland. It takes the Gospel into neighborhoods, schools, correctional facilities, and communities throughout Bradley County and the surrounding area.

  • Schedules vary by ministry and include weekly, monthly, and seasonal opportunities.
Serving Opportunities
  • Jail Ministry: Serve Saturdays from 9:00–10:00 AM.
  • Neighborhood Outreach: Participate in Backyard Bible Clubs and other neighborhood ministry opportunities.
  • Manna Food Pantry: Serve Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM–12:00 PM.
  • Foster Care Ministry: Support foster families through care teams and monthly gatherings.

GLOBAL MISSIONS

Global Missions helps First Baptist Cleveland reach people for Christ across the streets, across the states, and across the seas. Through missions education, preparation, prayer, and trips, we equip people to share the Gospel and make disciples beyond our local community.

When We Serve
First Baptist Cleveland typically offers 20–25 mission trips each year across the United States and around the world. Interest meetings are generally held four to nine months before each trip.
Serving Opportunities
  • Pray for supported missionaries and mission partners.
  • Participate in state, national, and international mission trips.
  • Attend mission interest and information meetings.
  • Help equip and prepare mission teams.

FIRST MUSIC

First Music brings together people who want to use their musical gifts to help lead the church in worship. Whether you sing, play an instrument, or enjoy helping behind the scenes, there is a place for you to serve.
